My attempt at a Thankful Thursday

Ever since Bobbi started doing these I thought how great of an idea it is. Today I figured is as good as ever to start; they say when you are feeling bad to list the things you are blessed with and it will help you change your mood. Well, that's what I think I need right now- an attitude adjustment. I think all I do lately is complain and worry. I'm gaining a ton of weight, I'm still sick so much of the time, I'm almost positive Dr. Graf has had it with me and I'm going to get fired any minute, etc... The list goes on.
Sooo, here's a shot at what I am thankful for right now:
-my family that is so close and will always let me vent
-phenergan and excedrin pm
-a body that will support a pregnancy, even if I don't enjoy it
-Schroeder
-my job, especially now that I feel like it's not secure anymore
-Jed's interest in my tv shows like Bachelor and The Office
-Palmer's lotion
-a family that's as crazy as me most of the time
-Church magazines
-solitaire at 2 am
I really do have a lot to be greatful for and need to remember that more often. I want to try more to enjoy the small things that make your day sometimes, I'm sure if I looked for those little things I would find them and could focus on and enjoy them!

I'll try harder

not to go MIA for so long at a time. Yes, Thanksgiving came and went, Christmas came and went, and I abandoned the blog world for a while; I'll do better someday:)
Life at our house is the same; I'm ornery as ever and overflow my clothes, Jed registered for another semester, this time I think he's doing Statistics, and Schroeder spent his Christmas Break recovering, he lost his manhood but thank goodness not his spunk.
Poor Jed still gets to listen to me whine about being sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I sometimes get scared that Dr. Graf is going to tell me that I'm fired for not being a good assistant anymore! Oh man I hope he doesn't think I'm lazy, I do want to be my same old self soon!
Ok, done complaining; wave hello...

to baby GIRL!

Today was the ultrasound and I was just as nervous as excited. It seems so much more real now; I've been calling this baby IT, but now it's HER instead. I kept psyching myself out to see boy parts because I never had brothers so I just knew I'd get a naughty little boy that I didn't know what to do with, so this was a fun surprise for me. Both our moms came too and it was so funny to listen to Mitzi, you guys know how she is, you could hear the happy screams from the hall I'm sure! Now the waiting game is going to be even harder for all of us, ahhh, we're only half-way there!

A big Thank You

for all of the advice and tips on feeling better. I'm amazed at how quickly your body will turn on you:( So far what's worked best is the unisom/B vitamin combo, so thank you Amie and Bobbi. My doctor prescribed phenergan which has really taken the edge off too. Oh and I do like the preggo pops from Motherhood. They have a lavender flavor that's pretty soothing on a queasy belly. I'm getting kind of nervous now that I'm going to be one of those moms that gain 70 lbs. in one pregnancy because when all else fails, I just keep eating and that's what finally makes me feel better. ahhh! Oh well, it can come back off later, right?
Jed has been really great to go along with whatever and whenever I want to eat or lay around or just let me complain his ear off. I bet he wonders what he got himself into by now! I'm excited to see him with the baby. He's great with all of his little cousins and nieces and nephews; he's already more motherly than I am:).

We were going to wait a while

to start telling everyone that we're finally pregnant, but I keep getting sick and you start putting it all together too soon! It's 8 weeks along and I kind of wanted to wait until 12 because that's when they say miscarriage risk goes down, plus now I feel like it's going to be FOREVER until we see a baby. Oh well, surprise! I go to the doctor for the first visit on Monday.
I'd love any suggestions on morning sickness. Right now, its morning-noon-and-night sickness for me :( Thanks!

SF wind fest

At the mouth of the canyon there are nine HUGE wind turbines that just started working in July. To celebrate our alternate energy source, Spanish Fork had a "wind fest" at the reservoir above the gun club. They had a water show with kite flyers on jet skis, a kite garden with giant exotic kites, treats, exhibits, food, etc. It was pretty cool to see all of the stuff out there now that's better for our environment. We saw teeny-tiny smart cars that looked Mr. Bean-esque and signed up to have curbside recycling.
I was so proud of my dad for coming with us, he just had knee surgery similar to what I had done a few months ago. (I get my joints from him :) He wandered all over with us, and it's steep up there in the mountains! I love hanging out with my family, we have fun no matter what we're doing.
